1. Why do people blog?

Share a passion: Blogging provides a platform for people to delve into topics they love and connect with others who share their enthusiasm. Whether it's baking delicious cookies or analyzing complex philosophical ideas, a blog allows them to dive deep and geek out.

Share knowledge and expertise: Many people use blogs to establish themselves as authorities in their field. They can share their professional experiences, insights, and tips, making them a go-to resource for readers and potentially attracting new business opportunities.

Connect with a community: Blogs foster a sense of community. Bloggers share their stories, experiences, and ideas, and build relationships with their readers through comments, forums, and social media. This is a great way to combat loneliness or find others who share similar interests.

Expressing oneself creatively: Blogging can be a fantastic outlet for creative expression. It allows people to experiment with different writing styles, weave narratives, and showcase their creativity through text, images, or even videos.

Process thoughts and ideas: Blogging can be a useful tool for self-reflection. By writing down their thoughts and ideas, bloggers can gain clarity and a new perspective on themselves and the world around them.

 2. Who are the active vloggers in Bhutan?

I. Yee getaway

Commonly known as Pem C, Yee getaway is a young famous blogger and an inspiration for the younger generation. Her blog mainly consist of the travel story within Bhutan, highlighting the rich culture and traditions of Bhutan. She covers the story of the unheard places, a rich tourist destination, promotes Bhutanese homestays, and of course the astonishing Bhutanese cuisine.  





II. Denkar's getaway

She is the Bhutanese travel vlogger. She travel in and around Bhutan, exploring unheard and unreached places in the country and her getaway helped promote domestic tourism in Bhutan. After 5 years of extensive travel experience she now operate tours for tourists aspiring to Travel to Bhutan. Get to know more about it @Bhutan Travel Escape

She has authored the first travelogue “The Tourist Within” making it the bestselling book in country.

The latest project was working with Hollywood actor Will Smith on upcoming PP project.

III. Passu diary


He began blogging in 2006, that was the same year he graduated from Paro College and went to Bajothang as a teacher. You will notice that from 2006 to 2009 he haven't written anything significant. Those were the days he was busy on Kuenselonline Forum. In 2009, after an incident on that forum, He recieved a life-changing advice to write under my own name. That same year, he rebranded his blog as PaSsu Diary and took it seriously.


As an early bird in the blogging world, he enjoyed so much attention. His blog is often considered one of the top blogs in Bhutan. Having started in pre-Facebook era, some loyal old followers shared how they would open his blog every morning to check for new updates.

In 2011, an open letter he wrote to a Singaporean minister went viral both in Singapore and back home, which widened his follower base significantly. Looking back on a decade of blogging and having churned out close to a thousand articles, he think he has been a marathon runner to qualify as a serious social blogger.

3. What are their intentions for vlogging?

  2. Expressing Creativity: Some bloggers use their platforms as a creative outlet, expressing themselves through writing, photography, or other forms of content creation.


  3. Building a Personal Brand: Blogging can be a way to establish and promote a personal brand. Individuals may use blogs to showcase their skills, opinions, and unique perspectives.


  4. Monetization: Bloggers may intend to make money through their blogs by monetizing through various channels such as advertising, sponsored content, affiliate marketing, or selling products/services.


  5. Community Building: Bloggers often seek to create a community around their content. They engage with their audience, encourage discussions, and build a loyal following.


  6. Networking: Blogging can be a powerful networking tool. Bloggers may use their platform to connect with like-minded individuals, influencers, or professionals in their industry.
