 25/04/2024

TPACK stands for Technological, Pedagogical, And Content Knowledge

● Content knowledge- What teachers know?

● Pedagogical knowledge- How do they teach? (the way teacher deliver the lesson)

● Technological knowledge-How to select and use the technology appropriately?

Why is the TPACK model important to be integrated in teaching and learning?

- It provides teachers a chance to develop professional development and competence

- It addresses the needs and expectations of the students more comprehensively and directly.

- It can enhance teaching and learning deeply.

- It plays a role in sharing ideas, communication, and providing a common language.

- It is useful for lessons to be more interactive and student-centered.

- It provides support in covering 21st century skills.

Lesson no. 2

Subject: English

Topic: Happiness (song)

Class: II

Time: 45 minutes

Teaching learning materials: board, song video and reading material,

ICT model: TPACK model

Teaching method: Collaborative method.

Previous knowledge: they already know nursery rhymes and songs and can sing a few songs.

Lesson objectives:

By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

  1. Define what is meant by happiness on their own after the teacher’s lesson delivery(Cognitive domain)

  2. Write at least three new words they have learned along with correct spelling after the teacher’s demonstration. (Psychomotor Domain)

  3. Share at least one reason why happiness should be shared with others after the teacher’s demonstration. ( affective domain)

Engagement (4 minutes)

  • Begin the class with the recapitulation of the class by asking “what did we do and learn in the last class”.

  • And along with the students, sing one verse of a song that was taught in the previous lesson, so that students can clearly remember what they have learned.

  • After that, let the students settle down and ask them how they are feeling. Then state that they will be learning a new song.

  •  Alter them with the title of the song, that is “Happiness” and write the song title on the board.

  • Ask if the students know what is meant by happiness, and collect their responses and create a mind map on the board.

  • Then, ask students if they are happy currently, and ask what makes them happy and who makes them the happiest.

  • Explain what is meant by happiness in addition to their responses.

Explore (4 minutes)

  • First , let the students read the song aloud in a chorus manner and then let them jot down the words that are difficult for them to understand. ( 1 minute)

  • Then, in their respective group, let them share and discuss the difficult words that they have jotted down.

  • Ask and discuss what they have understood by reading the song on the ppt slides.

Explain (5 minutes)

  • Project or present the song video on the projector.

  • Then, demonstrate how to sing the song.

  • Then , let the students sing along with the teacher.

  • And, finally let the students sing the song on their own all together in a chorus manner.

Elaborate (5 minutes)

1.      Grab student’s attention.

2.      Tell the students that we will be watching a short video.

3.      After watching the video, I will have the students sing along to the video so that they are familiar with the tune of the song.

4.      After that I will instruct the students that we will be doing it together without the music but rather sing ourselves.

Evaluate (2 minutes)

1.      I will ask one of the students to summarize what we have learned in this class.

2.      Then I will provide the students with a paper each so that they can write down what made them happy in this class.

3.      After that, I will touch on a bit about why they share happiness with others and why they should do that.

4.      Then, I will end the class with a reminder to students to remember the song and wish them a good day ahead.
